Stenskär - island in Piteå archipelago

The sunlit, tranquil lagoon at Stenskär आकर्षts many visitors with its long sandy beach. The island also offers rich birdlife and intriguing remains of old labyrinths. Deep inside the bay lies a picturesque fishing village with red-painted fishing cabins, giving the area an authentic archipelago charm.

Stenskär is part of the Bondöfjärden Nature Reserve, which means visitors are asked to show special consideration for the natural environment and wildlife. For those interested in fishing, the strait between Lill- and Stor-Leskär offers excellent opportunities for grayling fishing.

There is also a labyrinth on the island. Its original purpose is unknown, but such labyrinths are common along the coast of northern Sweden and may have been created to bring good fishing luck.

Near the guest harbour, there is a rich zoned vegetation with bands of plants such as salt sandwort, beach pea, Bothnian wormwood, and lyme grass.

The guest harbour has a depth of approximately 3 metres. Mooring is done with an anchor, bow towards the jetty and anchor at the stern. There are about 25 guest berths, and no fee is charged. The nearest town is Piteå.
