In 2013, Charlie experienced severe depression and made several suicide attempts that almost cost him his life. While struggling with his mental health, he did not dare tell anyone that he was ill. Instead, he kept everything secret because he was ashamed.

At the end of 2013, he launched the Aldrig Ensam website, a non-profit initiative focusing on mental health. He wanted to share his own experiences and help fill a gap on the internet, where accessible and straightforward information about mental health was lacking.

The lecture is part of Tillsammans för psykisk hälsa (“Together for Mental Health”), a themed week held every autumn.

The event is organised by Piteå Municipality, Region Norrbotten, Sensus, Hortlax Parish and Piteå Parish, Church of Sweden.

Admission is free to all lectures and programme events throughout the week. Refreshments will be served 30 minutes before each lecture begins.
