A scenic work that explores identity, memory and belonging through bodily storytelling.

In the production, 20 participants over 65 years of age and four professional dancers meet in a joint artistic process where personal experiences are transformed into scenic material.

The work takes its starting point in the participants' life stories - heritage, migration, work, relationships and life choices - and makes the elderly body visible as a carrier of knowledge, history and artistic potential. Through dance, voice and presence, a scenic expression is created where the individual and the collective are woven together.

ROOTS is developed in residence at Dans i Nord and will premiere in Piteå in March 2027, followed by performances in Luleå and at Telefonfabriken in Stockholm.
