A subculture in motion where identity takes place

Most of us have at some point been part of a context that felt bigger than ourselves – a music scene, a dance floor, a collective. A context where you belong without having to explain yourself. A subculture is often just that: a shared space that grows around an expression, an idea or a way of being together. Fundamentally, it is about something deeply human – the need to belong and to be part of a “we”.

SUBCULTUREN is a dance piece that takes its starting point from this longing. Inspired by subcultural contexts, the piece explores how identity is shaped through movement, music, style and presence.

On stage, you will meet seven dancers who together create a changing landscape. They move between the individual and the common, between stepping forward and blending in. Soon a space opens up where community is not described – but experienced. And the feeling of a shared “we” takes shape.
