Fluggtjärnen, Rosfors Ekopark (Skogsrået)
The shelter is located right by Fluggtjärnen and was created as part of the Arknat 2026 architecture festival.
The shelter can be reached on foot via a signposted forest trail.
The sculptural form of the shelter is inspired by Nordic folklore and depicts the Skogsrået, a mythical guardian of the forest.
Have you heard the story of Skogsrået? According to Nordic folklore, this mysterious creature is the guardian of the forest. It is said that she sometimes appears to those wandering through the woods, usually in the form of a beautiful woman with long, flowing hair. She is helpful and kind to those who care for nature, but anyone who fails to show nature the respect it deserves may come to harm or lose their way.
According to legend, the Skogsrå can be recognized by her hollow back, which resembles the trunk of an old, hollowed-out tree. Before you, the story has taken shape. Her long, beautiful dress billows in the wind as she stands among the birch trees. When the wind catches the fabric, her dress lifts and creates a sheltered space where you can crawl inside and rest for a while, with a view over the lake. Those who are brave enough can climb through the opening in her back and reach the lookout tower high up among the trees.
Welcome to Skogsrået!
