The Solander trail

Welcome to hike the Solander Trail along the coastal landscape of Norrbotten in Swedish Lapland.

You can hike 230 kilometers between Luleå Airport outside Luleå in the north and the coastal village of Jävre, south of Piteå.

You are hiking in an exciting landscape that is waiting to tell its story, a cultural history that stretches back 5,000 years and a natural history that began long before the last ice ages.

The Solander Trail also includes encounters with people, village life, livestock in pastures, breaks at summer cafes and village halls, visits to farm shops and accommodation along the trail.

As a hiker, you can also choose from various nature & cultural activities and make detours to interesting destinations.

The hike takes you through the Norrland cultural landscape and its old villages and through the forest landscape's changing natural types with deep forests, small forest stars and fine fishing lakes, rivers and streams, marshlands and mountain peaks with lovely views of the landscape.

The Solanderleden does not just invite you to a hike from A to B, but a learning experience, an encounter with silence and an invitation to reflection and thoughts.

For more information about the trails and maps for the different trails, you can read about it on their website
