Högberget Jävre (Windshelter 45°)
The shelter is located just above the existing fire pit at the summit of Högberget and was created as part of the Arknat 2026 architecture festival.
45° is a shelter inspired by the natural rock formations shaped and placed by the most recent Ice Age. The starting point is a simple cube—a clear geometric form that creates a deliberate contrast with the organic landscape.
By rotating the cube 45 degrees, the simple volume is transformed, creating a series of spatial experiences: a sheltered sleeping loft, a place to sit and gather, and openings that frame the surrounding landscape and allow daylight to enter.
The shelter has been carefully positioned between the trees and rocks to give the impression that it has always belonged in this place. Rather than competing with nature and the views, the architecture acts as an addition that enhances the qualities already present in the landscape.
As you approach, the experience gradually changes. What appears from a distance to be a simple cube reveals new spaces, angles, and relationships between inside and outside.
In this way, the architecture becomes a means of discovering and experiencing nature from new perspectives.
