Norrfjärdenleden - biketrail

The Norrfjärdsleden trail begins where the pedestrian street ends and follows Storgatan north away from the city center until it ends.

The trail passes Piteå's cemetery on the right and continues along Sundsgatan further in the direction of Öjebyn and the Holmen residential area. The trail then turns off into Öjebyn's agricultural landscape via Hällanvägen.

If you want to continue towards Norrfjärden instead, turn under the highway and onto Karlbergsvägen.

You are now on the national cycle trail Sverigeleden, which runs from Karesuando in the north to Helsingborg in the south. At the end of Karlbergsvägen is the Karlberg study and recreation area, the remains of the estate of the nineteenth-century magnate and mill owner C. A. Hedquist.

In addition to a modern outdoor theater, there are many other things to look for and explore, including thirteen house foundations, kilometers of stone fences and a very beautiful artificial lake that for unknown reasons was built "in the patron's time".
The place is well signposted and crisscrossed by partially boarded footpaths, including around the lake.
One of the paths leads over a clearing to nearby Bredviksberget, an excellent viewpoint over Öjebyn and
Svensbyfjärden.

The Sverigeleden takes you further in a northeasterly direction along the Old Coastal Road, a gravel road that leads through exciting lands. When you reach the village

Kopparnäs, you can take a detour through the village of Tullnäs, before finally reaching Norrfjärden. The Norrfjärdenleden extends all the way to the village of the same name and you pass villages such as Tullnäs and Kopparnäs on the way there. The map shows the roads but is not marked all the way, please look carefully for the old coastal road before you go.

Length: approx. 10.5 km
The trail runs along footpaths and cycle paths and in mixed traffic.
