This is the story of some of the Finnish war children who came to the Skellefteå area during the Second World War.

An estimated 70,000 children were cared for in Sweden in total; this transfer of children is considered the largest in world history. Some Finnish children were placed with foster families, while others went to children's homes.

In this talk, you will hear about children who ended up staying in Sweden as well as one who returned to Finland.

The speaker, Sandra Marklund, works as a museum educator at Skellefteå Museum.

Admission is 80 kronor; members of the museum association enjoy free admission.

No advance tickets; admission is on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors open at 6:00 PM.

The lecture is presented in collaboration with Skellefteå Museum.
