Friday evening at Pitefolk

Allspel opens and Balkanös rounds off Pitefolk 2026 with a full evening where folk music is free to let loose!
The evening begins with an opening ceremony featuring music school ensembles and an allspel, followed by Les Brains and their genre-defying blend of folk music, baroque, pop and jazz. During the evening, you can also experience the poetic performance Skogen (The Forest), world-class accordion playing by Fredrik Hangasjärvi & Heidi Haapasaari – before Framnäs Folklore Ensemble brings the opening night to a close with colourful, dance-friendly grooves.

Saturday at Pitefolk
Folk dance and folk rock in a wonderful mix. Saturday at Pitefolk is a full day for anyone who wants to experience folk music in all its forms.
Start the day with workshops and continue with traditional folk dancing with Kadrell’n – then the music keeps going all the way until midnight. During the evening, you’ll meet the next generation of folk musicians in Mareld, Kapells folk and Birka folk. You can enjoy the storytelling performance Brita Kajsa with Magdalena Eriksson, as well as experience joik and Sámi culture with Jarnna.

And the finale? Jämtland folk rock with Hoven Droven. A sweaty, high-energy finish to a Saturday packed with music, dancing and stories.

Come early and stay late! Food and drinks are available both in the restaurant and in Pite Sameförening’s Lávvu (traditional Sámi tent) just outside.
